Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
